Legendary actress Pam Grier has been cast in a series regular role for the Fox comedy pilot Bless This Mess.

The pilot order is off-cycle as the pilot season for broadcast networks wrapped up last month with series orders.

She joins Lake Bell (who also wrote and directed the pilot), Dax Shepard and Ed Begley Jr. JT Neal was also added to the cast along with Christina Offley as her daughter.

Per Deadline, “Bless This Mess centers on a newlywed couple — Rio (Bell) and Mike (Shepard)  — who give up their drab and unfulfilling lives in NYC and moves to Nebraska to live a simpler life. It doesn’t work out like they planned. Grier will play Sheriff/town store owner Constance Terry, whose charisma and maternal nature makes her the hub of the town’s social scene/woes/information/gossip. Offley plays Constance’s daughter, Cherry Terry. She’s a bored teenager with a secret creativity/intelligence that is misunderstood in this town.”

Grier’s last series regular role was in The L Word during its 2004-2009 run.
