Shondaland is getting a new addition.

One of the busiest and well-versed directors in the business, Paris Barclay, will be the producing director and exec producer of Shondaland’s untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff.

The spinoff follows a group of heroic firefighters, from the captain to the newest recruit, as they risk their lives and their hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock. It was first picked up in May on a straight-to-series order for ABC.

As of now, the show will feature an entirely new cast.

Barclay is coming off of FOX’s Pitch, which was canceled after its first season. Shonda Rhimes and her Shondaland partner Betsy Beers will also be executive producers, and Grey’s  co-showrunner Stacey McKee is moving to the spinoff full-time.

He earned Emmys for his work on NYPD Blue, and has also directed episodes of Law & Order, The Good Wife, ER, The West Wing and many others. Barclay is a former Directors Guild of America president.
