Porsha Williams says she was set to be on the ‘RHUGT’ cast
According to Williams, she was one of the Atlanta peach holders who originally signed on to do the show. The Pursuit of Porsha author says she was on board but changed her mind due to circumstances when filming began.
“This is so cute being that I was originally cast to head the all-star show along with Gizelle [Bryant],” Williams wrote on Twitter. “Traveling during quarantine was our issue. Booked & busy when it came back around!” she clarified, then promoting her Porsha Family Matters upcoming show and shouting out Cynthia and Kyle for their support.”
The “Family Matters” star says she’s focused on her own endeavors
Williams announced her decision to exit the franchise after 8 seasons in a lengthy Instagram post. She says it was a difficult one, and one she’d been considering for some time. She now has her own spin-off special, Porsha’s Family Matters, which follows her and her family on a Mexico vacation amid family strife and confusion due to her engagement to Simon Guobadia.
A source told HollywoodLife that Williams felt is was time to spread her wings beyond the show. “She’s worked hard for so long and deserves to put her energy and focus into wherever she pleases because plain and simple, she’s earned it,” the insider shared. “She’s excited about her future and the other projects she’s putting her focus and passion into now. It’s time for the next chapter.”
