Girls Trip is one of the biggest blockbuster hits of the year and the most successful R-rated comedies we’ve seen in a couple of years.

In an interview with Vulture, the film’s executive producer, Will Packer, was asked about a potential sequel to the film. He sounds hopeful and confirms that a second movie has been discussed.

He said, “We’re definitely talking about it. The only thing harder than opening a studio comedy today is opening a studio comedy sequel. [Laughs.] That’s the next challenge. I love our team. If anybody can do it, we can do it. It’s still a little early — the movie is still in theaters — but it’s something we’ve all thought about.”

The film just recently hit the $100M mark at the U.S. box office.
