Making its world premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival 2 months ago was the Netflix indie comedy feature “Deidra & Laney Rob a Train,” from director Sydney Freeland – her second feature film following the wide release of “Drunktown’s Finest” which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

“Deidra & Laney Rob a Train” is a comedy about two teenage girls who start robbing trains to make ends meet after their mom goes to jail.

Starring as the 2 teen girls are Ashleigh Murray and Rachel Crow as Deidra and Laney respectively.

They are joined by “Saturday Night Live’s” Sasheer Zamata, as well as Danielle Nicolet, Tim Blake Nelson, David Sullivan, and Arturo Castro.

Producers are Nick Moceri and Susan Cartsonis.

Freeland directed from a script penned by screenwriter Shelby Farrell.

Netflix has set a March 17, 2017 release date for the film (streaming).
