At Starz’s Power panel at Friday’s Television Critics Association press tour, the first details were revealed about one of the planned spinoffs of the show in development at the network.

“We have alluded previously to various spin-offs, prequels and other expansions of the Power Universe. Today we are pleased to announce that we are in pre-production on the first of what we know will be a collection of series inspired by the dynamic world of Power. Power Book II: Ghost will continue the journey of some of Power’s most controversial characters. Joining the cast of the new series and the Power family, please welcome world-renowned recording artist and Oscar nominee Mary J. Blige,” said showrunner and executive producer Courtney A. Kemp and executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson during the panel.

The show is one of the multiple Power spinoffs in development through massive overall deals that both Kemp and 50 Cent have (the previous has one at Lionsgate, the studio, 50 Cent has one at Starz, the network).

It was also announced during the panel that season six of Power will be broadcast in two parts. The 10-episode Part I will debut on Sunday, August 25th. Part II, which will consist of the final five episodes, will debut in January.

Blige is on a roll now. Coming off of her Oscar-nominated turn in Dee Rees’ Mudbound, she has since starred in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy and is starring in the upcoming films Body Cam, Pink Skies Ahead and The Violent Heart. She also has an overall deal at Lionsgate (which also produces Power) to develop and produce projects.
