Prison looks very rough on Ghost (Omari Hardwick). Injured from his violent encounter with the prison guards at the end of the season premiere, Ghost is now dealing with blood in his urine and a possible broken rib. Gone is the polished and well put together James St. Patrick that we’ve grown accustomed to over the past three seasons of this series.

At home, Tasha (Naturi Naughton) is trying to reassure Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) and Raina (Donshea Hopkins) of their father’s innocence, even though he won’t be home anytime soon. She also warns them to keep their family business to themselves and to NEVER refer to their father as Ghost. Tariq is insolent and rude, and he’s not trying to hear anything that his mother is saying.

Meanwhile, the sexual tension between Keisha (La La Anthony) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora) is building. Disturbed by the fact that Ghost hasn’t been granted bail, Keisha barges into Tommy’s loft to tell him she wants his and Tasha’s hands out of her business. Tommy tells her that he can’t have that, not with all eyes on Ghost and his associates. He assures Keisha that he has her back and that everything will work out in the end.

Back in prison, Proctor (Jerry Ferrara) visits Ghost in jail, he tells Ghost that his hands are tied until the prosecution shows their hand, but he also warns his client to suppress his baser self. Meanwhile, at work, Angela (Lela Loren) should be humiliated since her colleagues are discussing her sex life. In a back and forth split screen Proctor convinces Ghost and AUSA John Mak (Sung Kang) convinces Angela that neither of them can take the stand. The timeline and knowledge of their relationship hurts the Feds’ case and the love triangle between Ghost, Angela, and Greg (Andy Bean) would give Ghost a motive. Instead, John decides that he wants to go for Ghost, Tommy, and their entire drug empire.

At Truth, Dre (Rotimi) thinks he has things on lock. He’s also begun running drugs through the club. After receiving a call from Ghost to confirm everything with the business are going smoothly, Dre smugly thinks everything is going to go according to his plan. He might actually be simple.

Meanwhile, at the warehouse, Tommy discovers that he’s had some issues with some of his guys. One of them hasn’t picked up his product and word on the street is that he’s looking to get from a different connect. Tommy isn’t having it, and he tells Julio (J.R. Ramirez) to handle it. While they’re chatting, Julio expresses his concern over Ghost’s imprisonment but Tommy brushes it off. However, Julio owes Ghost (though we don’t know why yet) so his loyalty runs deep. Tommy and Julio are going to have problems this season.

Back in jail, Ghost is having some trouble keeping himself in check when a fellow prisoner sets his eyes on him. Calmly, Ghost breaks ole boys fingers (or hand) as the prisoner Tony Teresi (William Sadler) looks on. If you recall, the feds are tying tog et Tony to flip in return for a life changing surgery his wife needs. On the outside, Proctor is talking to the press and using the race card to reconstruct Ghost’s narrative. The Feds are pissed and they try to get a gag order, but the judge isn’t having it.

After a rough morning with Tasha smashing a paparazzo’s camera (who takes pictures of people’s kids??), Tariq calls Kanan and he asks the older man about his dad’s friend, Kanan and of course “Slim” as Tariq knows him tells him that Kanan is dead. Tariq is actually the worst.

At Truth, Dre looks flummoxed when the Feds raid the club. Slinking off like the snake he is, AUSA Mike Sandoval (David Fumero) Greg’s real murderer plants the gun in Ghost’s office. Of course, the Feds find it and are gleeful about it, but Angela looks sick to her stomach especially when John announces that he’s going for first-degree murder and the death penalty.

Meanwhile, Julio approaches the men who disrespected the organization and though it’s resolved in the end, one of Tommy’s men gets roughed up. Tommy is pissed when he finds out ad he seeks out Keisha to soothe his pain. The duo gets busy in her kitchen. We ALL knew this was coming. Leaving Keisha’s house the next morning the duo agrees to keep their situation from Tasha, and Keisha also reveals to Tommy that Tasha had been sleeping with Sean. Later Tommy handles the disrespect toward the organization his way, by running over the man who assaulted one of his men.

Back in prison, Tony decides to turn snitch for his wife, and he’s also fed some inside information about Ghost. Another major revelation is made when Tony’s lawyer mentions Tommy’s name. Is Tony Tommy’s father? All roads seem to lead to yes.

Meanwhile, Proctor gets his courthouse snitch to tell him what the prosecution’s case is looking like. He warns Tommy that because of the Feds new strategy he has to lay low. Tommy begrudgingly agrees, but he warns Proctor that if he goes down, he’ll kill him. After discovering the prosecution, Proctor suggests to Ghost that he should consider snitching on Tommy. Apparently, John lives for a snitch. Ghost is not about that life.

Later, as Tommy walks through the door to his loft, we see a Fed stick a tracker underneath his car. Shortly after that his crazy mama Kate arrives at his home, and he hands her his car keys. With his mom headed back to Queens in his ride, Tommy hops in a new inconspicuous black SUV. Y’all are going to stop underestimating Tommy.

In prison, Proctor reluctantly tells Ghost about the death penalty news and the gun. Ghost doesn’t even look shocked After Tasha receives the news she goes straight to Angela to hopefully lay her ass out. No such luck, but they do agree that they both wish Angela never laid eyes on Ghost again. Meanwhile, Kanan confronts Dre to tell him that he won’t stay away from Tariq, but he’ll keep paying him if he wants to stay alive.

Back in jail, Ghost makes a very difficult phone call. He calls Tommy to ask his oldest friend to take care of his family.

What did you think of this episode of Power ? I just don’t see Ghost coming out of this mess clean….or at all.
