“An Oversimplification of Her Beauty” producer and IFP 2015 Gotham Awards Spotlight on Women Directors winner, Chanelle Aponte Pearson, makes her directorial debut with “195 Lewis,” a dramedy series about a group of friends navigating the realities of being Black, queer, and poly in New York City.

“195 Lewis” stars Rae Leone Allen, Sirita Wright, Roxie Johnson, and D. Ajane Carlton.

An honest exploration of gender dynamics and identity, following a Brooklyn queer couple who decide to have an open relationship, the first five episodes of “195 Lewis” will premiere at BAMcinématek (Brooklyn, NY) on Wednesday, December 14 at 7:30PM.

Co-written by Pearson, Terence Nance (director of “An Oversimplification of Her Beauty”), Rae Leone Allen, and Yaani Supreme, “195 Lewis” is produced by MVMT, Allen, Supreme, Pearson and Nance.

It made its international premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) earlier this year 2016, and would also screen at BlackStar film festival in Philly over the summer.
