Producers are considering killing off Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood for 'House of Cards' final season

With Netflix trying to get together House of Cards‘ final season in light of sexual assault allegations against Kevin Spacey.

Multiple outlets reported that producers are going to write Spacey out of the political drama, and Variety is even stating that they plan to kill Spacey’s Frank Underwood.

Insiders tell the industry publication the sixth and final season would focus on his wife, Claire Underwood, portrayed by Robin Wright.

Most of the sixth season had been written before the allegations.

This comes after earlier this week, reports surfaced that Netflix is toying with multiple HoC spinoff ideas, including one starring Michael Kelly’s Doug Stamper.

Despite CNN’s report that came out this week as well talking about the “toxic work environment” at the show because of Spacey’s behavior, producers are said they want to continue, knowing that hundreds of people would be out of a job and are not at fault.

If anyone is familiar with the UK version of the show, on which this installment is based, the Frank Underwood character was also killed off.
