Production Halted On Halle Berry's Upcoming MMA Film After Actress Injured

Production on Halle Berry’s Bruised has halted.

Deadline is reporting that the Academy Award-winning actress sustained a minor injury while filming a fight scene for the MMA film in New Jersey. However, the decision to halt production was taken as a precaution and filming is said to resume in a couple of days.

Written by Michelle Rosenfarb, Bruised is Berry’s directorial debut. Berry will portray Jackie aka Justice, “a disgraced MMA fighter who also wants to reunite with her 6-year-old son.”

Berry’s injury was first reported by the NJ Advance Media.

“Halle got slightly injured in the fight. She’s tired. She needed a break,” executive producer Brian Pitt told the publication. While Berry’s exact injuries have not been detailed, they say it is nothing serious.

Berry went through extensive physical training and preparation for the role.
