Quavo and Offset reunited at the BET Awards with a surprise performance to honor the late Takeoff.

The duo took the stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday and performed an emotional tribute to the Atlanta-based rapper who died in November.

Quavo and Offset stood on a darkened stage when Takeoff’s verse from “Hotel Lobby” played in the background. As the crowd cheered, a black curtain fell to the ground, and the two rappers stood between an image of a rocket taking off before the performance started.

“BET, doing this for Take. If you’re ready to do it for the rocket, say ‘Yes sir,'” Quavo said to the crowd as the two pointed to the space shuttle taking off.

An image of Takeoff appeared on the screen, with Quavo and Offset transitioning into one of Migos’ biggest hits, “Bad & Boujee.” The crowd sang word-for-word as the pair continued their emotional tribute to their fallen groupmate.

According to reports, Sunday’s performance was the first time Quavo and Offset performed together since Takeoff’s death.

The rappers later shared the powerful performance to their respective Instagram accounts, per Variety.

In a separate Twitter post, fans were elated to see Quavo and Offset put their differences aside for Takeoff.

“I wanna cry, I’m so happy for them and their family sticking together,” one fan said with a rocket ship and heart emoji.

“Omg why am I crying I miss take so much. I love this, I just know it was hard for them,” another user said with crying emoji.

“Takeoff seeing his pic knowing that dude is no more slaps real hard!! #RipTakeoff,” a third user wrote with teary-eyed emoji.

Cardi B also shared an emotional tweet and wrote, “I can’t take it right now …proud of the boys” with teary-eyed emoji.

Blavity reported Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston on November 1, 2022. The 28-year-old had accompanied his uncle and fellow bandmate Quavo to a private event that later turned to tragedy. Takeoff reportedly suffered gunshot wounds to the head and neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
