Quavo unveiled a new limited-edition collaboration with Lids and ’47, paying homage to the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Two snapback hats released Friday feature the Bulldog’s signature logos and Quavo’s creative touch.

“I was just honored and I felt like it was a blessing because growing up I always rocked the Atlanta hat,” the rapper told Vibe about the drop. “When I was trying to rap, that was my favorite hat and that was like a staple. Kind of like how the New York Yankee hat is to New York. We love our Atlanta Braves hat.”

Quavo has maintained a partnership with Lids for over three years. He has released two collaborations prior with his Atlanta Braves World Series hats.

“The relationship just got stronger and stronger,” Quavo added. “I created another hat when they went back-to-back and won another World Series, thank God. And then now we here with the college wave and UGA won back-to-back. So I guess it’s only right to call Qua at this point [laughs]. I’m just proud of myself for being a part of the family.”

Quavo represents his hometown of Athens, Georgia, through this collaboration.

“I’m from Athens, you know what I’m saying? I love UGA to the fullest. I just want everybody to rep this hat and put it on their head, because we ain’t capping about our rap. We coming hard this year and we going three-peat,” he told the news outlet.

“I want to see everybody at the University of Georgia have this hat. These hats are rare. This hat is a one-of-a-kind, and it’s done by me,” the rapper added.

Not only is Quavo a supporter of the Bulldogs, he also plans on enrolling at UGA next year — although he hasn’t shared what he will study.

“Next year, I’m going to enroll myself into University of Georgia,” he said. “I’m going to be a student on campus.”

Quavo unveiled the collaboration at Fan Outfitters Athens on Thursday. He celebrated the launch and photographed with fans, who lined up hours before the event kickoff at 10 a.m.

“I am a big Quavo guy,” Zach Jarvis, a UGA finance major and one of the day’s first customers, told The Red & Black

Jarvis got in line at 7 a.m. He wanted to ensure he was among the 100 first customers to purchase the $55 hat and get a chance to access the meet and greet with Quavo later in the day.

“Quavo is an icon, a legend,” Chema Garcia, a marketing associate for Lids, told the outlet. “Having him come to our store and doing this collaboration with him for Lids Hat Drop is a huge opportunity for both him and us to be able to grow our brands together.”

The collaboration is being released today on the Lids website.
