Netflix has dropped the first clip for the Bridgerton prequel series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

The very first spinoff of the Netflix and Shondaland juggernaut willl focus on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power.

Here's the official logline:

Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

Or course, the original Queen Charlotte, played by Golda Rosheuval, will be seen in the series. However, the focus will be on the younger version of the royal, played by India Amarteifi.

The limited series will also star Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton), Arsema Thomas (Young Agatha Danbury), Katie Brayben (Vivian Ledger), Keir Charles (Lord Ledger), Sam Clemmett (elder Brimsley), Hugh Sachs (younger Brimsley), Richard Cunningham (Lord Bute), Michelle Fairley (Princess Augusta), Corey Mylchreest (King George), and Cyril Nri (Lord Danbury).

The limited series is from showrunner/executive producer and writer Shonda Rhimes. Tom Verica directs and executive produces and Betsy Beers also EPs.
