Queen Latifah is set for her first major project at Netflix.

The Oscar-nominated multihyphenate, who stars in the upcoming The Equalizer series at CBS, will star in an executive produce the Netflix action-thriller film, End of the Road. Millicent Shelton will direct. David Loughery is writing the script based on an original screenplay from Christopher Moore.

Here’s the logline: After losing her job, recently widowed Brenda drives her family cross-country to start a new life. In the New Mexico desert, cut off from help, they must learn to fight back when they become the targets of a mysterious killer.  

While being initially known as a New York City-based music video director, Shelton has become an acclaimed television director, helming episodes of P-Valley, Insecure, black-ish, Hunters, The Walking Dead, Titans and more.

Tracey Edmonds is producing for Edmonds Entertainment, as is Mark Burg for Twisted Pictures and Brad Kaplan. Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere are executive producing for Flavor Unit Entertainment.
