Abbott Elementary star, creator and executive producer Quinta Brunson has signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group, marking the first time she’s inked a pact with a major studio.

With a total of seven nominations, Abbott Elementary‘s first season is up for many Emmy awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress.

Shadow and Act has learned that the deal is an exclusive multi-year agreement that makes WBTV Brunson’s studio home for new television productions.

She created the critically-acclaimed Abbott Elementary comedy for Warner Bros. Television in collaboration with 20th Television.

Under this new pact, Brunson will develop, create, and produce original content for all platforms, including but not limited to cable channels, HBO Max from Warner Bros. Discovery, external streaming services

The agreement continues a relationship between Brunson and WBTV that started in 2018 when she starred in the studio’s comedy pilot, The End of the World as We Know It, for The CW. It ended up not going to series, but paved the way for them to work with her on Abbott Elementary.

Brunson commented on the deal, saying: “I’m excited to expand my long-running creative partnership with Warner Bros. With 'Abbott' as our anchor, I look forward to what we’ll create next.”

Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman Channing Dungey said, “Quinta Brunson is a tour de force and a powerhouse talent, and we are beyond thrilled to be continuing our partnership with her through this new overall deal. What Quinta and her Abbott Elementary team have achieved in the first season is just extraordinary. We cannot wait for season two, and to explore many future projects with her in the coming years. I’m so grateful that Quinta is part of our WBTV family, and I look forward to many more years of successful collaboration.”
