Raising Dion is back again for another season and the family superhero drama reaches new heights.

In the new season, “two years after defeating the Crooked Man (Jason Ritter), Dion (Ja’Siah Young) continues honing his powers with the support of his mom Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) and Tevin (Rome Flynn), his Biona trainer who catches Nicole’s eye. After befriending new student Brayden (Griffin Robert Faulkner) – a fellow powered kid – a series of alarming events unfold, and Dion learns that danger is still looming. Navigating twists, turns, and surprise visitors, Dion and Nicole must prevail again — not just to save themselves, but the entire city of Atlanta.”

Shadow and Act’s Danteé Ramos talked to Wainwright, Flynn and Ritter ahead of the second season premiere to talk about the show and more.

Flynn, who is a new cast member for season 2, jumps into the season with ease alongside Young, Wainwright and Ritter. For the Daytime Emmy winner, known to many for his role on How to Get Away With Murder, he enjoyed getting to know Young both during their scenes as well as when the cameras were off

“I love the fight scenes, but in between scenes, hanging out with Ja’Siah and he kept the set really youthful [and] kept me youthful. Sometimes the work can get real serious, and had to remember [that] he’s at such a point in his life…I don’t even think he realizes it. It is such an amazing thing that he’s doing and [I enjoyed] getting to know him and hanging out with him outside of work. Also working with Alicia. I was a fan of the show before I got on it. It rarely happens where I get to work on something I actually like or have been a fan of. So that is a little bit more pressure, but at the same time, I was open and super excited to be able to start.”

On season 2, Wainwright said this season has “definitely a lot more action” and teased how Nicole is more “dynamic.” Check out the full interviews with Wainwright, Flynn and Ritter below, in which they talk about how preparation is key and much more:
