'Raising Dion' Season 2: Rome Flynn Among Four New Stars Added To Netflix Series

Shadow and Act has learned that Netflix is adding four new cast members for the second season of Raising Dion.

Rome Flynn, Aubriana Davis, Tracey Bonner and Josh Ventura have joined the show as series regulars alongside returning season 1 stars Alisha Wainwright, Ja’Siah Young, Sammi Haney, and Jazmyn Simon. Additionally, Ali Ahn and Griffin Robert Faulkner have been upped to series regulars for the second season.

Production on season 2, which will have eight episodes, is underway in Atlanta.

Flynn will play Tevin Wakefield, "a former long-distance runner and Olympic track coach who becomes Dion's trainer and mentor. He is protective yet playful, and develops a close relationship with both Dion and Nicole."

Davis is Janelle Carr, a "15-year-old girl who has been labeled destructive and dangerous. Janelle's mother brings her to BIONA in hopes of managing her “behavioral issues” once and for all. As she forms a bond with Nicole and Dion, Janelle begins to feel heard and valued for the first time in her life. "

Bonner will play Simone Carr,  Janelle's mother "who is frightened for her daughter's future, and just wants her to live a normal life. " And Ventura will play “David Marsh,” the new V.P. of Operations for BIONA, who hopes to rekindle his personal relationship with Suzanne Wu.

Based on the comic book by Dennis Liu, Carol Barbee is Raising Dion's showrunner. It is executive produced by Liu, Michael B. Jordan, Kenny Goodman, Michael Green, Darren Grant,  and MACRO’s Charles D. King, Poppy Hanks and Marta Fernández.
