Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page is set to headline a new Netflix thriller written and directed by Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley. The Russo brothers will produce with Mike Larocca via their company AGBO with Hawley, who will produce through his company 26 Keys. Page will also executive produce with Angela Russo-Otstot.

The plot behind the film is still being hidden, so it will seemingly be a complete surprise, at least for a while. But The Hollywood Reporter has written that the film is based on an original idea from Hawley.

Larocca said in a statement how AGBO is excited to work with Hawley and Page on the new film.

“AGBO was originally founded to allow us to collaborate with artists we greatly respect and admire,” he said. “We are very happy to continue to fulfill that pledge by supporting this new film from Noah Hawley and Regé-Jean Page,” he said.

The film is probably expected to become another smash hit for the Russos, since their prior project with the streaming service, Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth, was the streamer’s most watched original film. The Russos have also worked with Page recently on the upcoming The Gray Man, also for Netflix.

Page earned global heartthrob status when he starred as the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton, which became Netflix’s most successful show of all time. He left the show after its first season to explore his film career, which grew exponentially after Bridgerton. Some of his new leading roles includes starring in The Saint reboot and Dungeons and Dragons. Page’s popularity also led to the actor becoming the actor fans want to see become the next James Bond.

Despite leaving the series even after a promised pay raise, Page has recently teased that he could make an appearance on a future Bridgerton season, giving fans hope that they might see the Duke of Hastings scorch the screen once more.
