Regina Hall is stepping into the executive producer role for Amazon’s upcoming drama, Master.

According to Deadline, Hall will executive produce and star in Master, written by Mariama Diallo (Hair Wolf, Random Acts of Flyness), who will also direct the series. The series will follow two Black women at a predominately white college in Massachusetts, “one head of students (aka Master) and one a freshman–who start to experience haunting activities ingrained in the history of the school.”

Hall’s character is Gail Bishop, described as “the queer, Black master of the Belleville House at Ancaster, a liberal arts college outside Boston.” Bishop has to keep her campus in order “as instances of racism cause tensions” while teachers and students alike are haunted by evil forces.

While Hall will executive produce, Andrea Roa, Josh Astrachan and Brad Becker-Parton will also produce via their production company Animal Kingdom.
