If you watch ABC’s Strahan and Sara, you’ve probably seen Keke Palmer guest-hosting with Michael Strahan while Sara Haines was on maternity leave. If you’ve loved seeing her on the show, you’re in luck, because it looks like she’s about to become an official member of the team.

Page Six is reporting that Palmer is “days away” from signing a contract that would make her an official co-host of the ABC daytime show. A source told Page Six that “ABC execs are close to finalizing a deal…She’s fun, spontaneous and has great energy.” Shadow And Act has reached out to ABC for further comment. The report makes total sense, as Palmer continued to co-host with Haines once she returned from maternity leave, filling in for Michael Strahan. And although the deal hasn’t officially been announced, the trio of Strahan, Haines and Palmer co-hosted the program on Wednesday’s episode.

The Page source also said that the execs loved Palmer’s interactions with the audience and the hosts Haines and Strahan, “so they decided to make her an offer.” According to the article, ABC is hoping that Palmer will help “attract younger viewers,” seeing how the show has been lagging in ratings since its 2018 debut.

Strahan and Sara is an extension of Good Morning America, and was previously known as GMA Day and Good Afternoon America. Palmer’s segments often appear on other ABC News programs such as GMA.

A singer-actress first and foremost, you will be able to see Palmer next in Hustlers with Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and Lili Reinhart, comes out September 13.
