Nene Leakes’ exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta was not amicable. Leakes went on a tirade, accusing the network and producers of practically forcing her off the show by featuring her in fewer episodes during her last few seasons. She also says producers painted her out to be the villain with the way they edited the show and fired off claims of racial discrimination.

Further complicating things, Leakes smeared Bravo honcho Andy Cohen, claiming the world would not know his name had it not been for her helping make RHOA a standout. But after over a year of not being on the show, Leakes is expressing her desire to return. But Cohen’s response has fans wondering if he wants her back.

Andy Cohen gives shady reaction to Nene Leakes’ potential return

Cohen has been a longtime champion of Leakes and dedicated a length and emotional Instagram post to the RHOA OG amid her tumultuous exit from the show. But that doesn’t mean he’s jumping for joy that Leakes wants to return.

In a recent episode of his SiriusXM radio show Andy Cohen Live, Cohen said his relationship with Leakes is “complicated.” He did say that he’s been in contact with Leakes since her husband Gregg’s death. But he does not confirm whether he spoke with Leakes about her coming back to the show.

“What I don’t want to do is get into a public thing with her,” Cohen said. “I think she would probably prefer that I keep her name out of my mouth and that is what I’m going to honor.”

Nene Leakes says she has to speak with Andy Cohen before an official return

Leakes recently chatted with the hosts of the FOX daytime talk show The Real. When asked by comedian Loni Love if she’d return to the show that she helped put on the map, Leakes gave a surprising answer.

“I’m OK with returning to the show, as long as, you know, we can work through a few things,” she said. “I’m happy to return to the show and besides, I have a lot of unfinished business with a couple of them they confirmed on the show.”

But she says she’d need to have a sit-down with Cohen in order to seal the deal. “I think Andy and I were really close for a really, really long time and I love [his son, Ben] Benny Boo,” she said. “I helped pay for his baby shower and all those things. I think that Andy and I need to have a sit-down and talk, and then we’re off to the races.”
