The feud between Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard Bassett seems like it’ll never die down…at least anytime soon. The Real Housewives of Potomac stars have traded jabs since Dillard Bassett joined the cast in Season 3 and haven’t eased up since. But after Dillard’s latest rant to Darby, Darby says Dillard Bassett has taken things a bit too far.
The moment came when Dillard Bassett began scolding Darby for her deciding to question Wendy Osefo about her and her husband’s sex life amid rumors of Osefo’s husband being unfaithful. Darby said it was a legitimate question, but Dillard believes it was simply shady, messy, and inappropriate. She was especially perturbed that Darby asked such and left a trip to Williamsburg immediately after.
“This filthy milkmaid,” Dillard Bassett said of Darby in her confessional. “You drove four hours to ruin my trip. This is why I don’t deal with her.” The verbal lashing she gave Darby was worse.
“You brought your wide-bodied a** down to Williamsburg to spread lies and bulls**t and then you took off with your breast milk,” Dillard Bassett told Darby during a dinner for co-star Robyn Dixon’s birthday. “So I’m wide now?” Darby asked. “Y’all want to talk about body shaming right?”
“I’m not body shaming you,” Dillard Bassett snapped back at the mother of two, who’d recently given birth to her second child just weeks beforehand. “You walking into a room, you body shame yourself with your big a** face and your big a– forehead.”
The episode concluded with the cast stunned at the exchange. Dillard Bassett previously opened up about why she will never make amends with Darby, noting Darby’s support of Monique Samuels during Season 5 following the fight between Samuels and Dillard Bassett. She says Darby lacks loyalty.
Dillard Bassett was introduced to the show as a friend of Darby’s, who she met while both competing on the pageant scene.
