The fight between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett has The Real Housewives of Potomac cast split on who is to blame. More so, it’s unclear how the group will survive as a whole following the hair-pulling blowup.

Sunday night’s episode featured the cast attempting to make sense of what took place at the winery. From the start, it was clear the green-eyed bandits, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, were #TeamCandiace. Interestingly, the youngest and eldest of the group are taking the more mature approach. The self-proclaimed Grand Dame and matriarch of the group, Karen Huger, is steering clear of taking sides. Ashley Darby is also not one to write Samuels off.

Samuels calls a seance between her and the group, sans Dillard Bassett, to give her side of the story. Collectively, the group is hoping that Samuels takes accountability for her part in the fight.

Gizelle Bryant wants nothing to do with Samuels. Considering Bryant has never been a fan of Samuels, this is not surprising. It appears this seems to be what Bryant needs to validate the feelings she’s had toward Samuels from the start. It should also be noted that Bryant brought security to the meeting for her own protection against Samuels.

Considering Samuels a liability, she is not pleased when Samuels admits she is not remorseful. Bryant and Dixon, are also annoyed by Samuels’ attitude.

Samuels’ recollection of the fight is not how many of her co-stars, nor members of production, recall what happened. She says she didn’t throw the first punch. The group disagrees, and flashback clips of Samuels grabbing Dilliard Basset’s hair coincide with the idea that Samuels got physical first. There’s also a clip that shows Samuels speaking to production on her way home from the winery detailing the fight minute by minute, though she insists she remembers nothing.

Wendy Osefo, Dixon, and Bryant believe Samuels leaked information regarding the fight to the press to spin the story in her favor.

Samuels cries and promises that the behavior is out of character for her. She feels as if Dillard Basset antagonized and provoked her. Osefo isn’t sympathetic, explaining the Samuels has to have more control. Samuels promises she’s on a spiritual journey to recognize her triggers. The only allies she has amongst the group are Huger and Darby, who believe the incident was a one-off.

Previews for the remaining half of the season show the group split and Samuels and Dillard Basset’s reactions to who take their side, and who does not.

RHOP airs Sundays on Bravo at 9 pm EST.
