The new trailer for season 6 of The Real Housewives of Potomac is here and fans are anticipating the explosive season.

Many were bummed to discover that Monique Samuels opted not to renew her contract. But newbie Mia Thornton promises to deliver some spice. Per the trailer, she’s accomplished, married, and has a compelling story including her upbringing in the foster care system.

Thornton joins the cast and seemingly has a strong ally in Karen Huger. Huger describes Thornton as “a boss” and “a breath of fresh air.”  Thornton is an entrepreneur with multiple businesses. Like Huger, she has a much older and successful husband who is 32 years her senior. Thornton’s Instagram page is filled with images of her and her family.

Her Instagram profile includes a lot. about her businesses. She’s the founder of a beauty company called Amilleon London. The marketing guru is also the regional developer and multi-clinic franchise owner for a chiropractic company called The Joint Chiropractic.

Thornton’s official Bravo description reads:

“New housewife Mia Thornton joins the ladies with a boss mentality and is letting them know that, on her end, respect is earned, not given. Thornton is an entrepreneur and a certified “boss.” She is living life like it’s golden with her multiple businesses while being a mother of three and wife to her successful husband, who is 32 years her senior. Mia has not always lived on Easy Street, but she is ready to let it all hang out with the ladies of Potomac.

Thornton joins the ladies of The Real Housewives of Potomac this season. She is a woman who marches to the beat of her own drum as an entrepreneur, franchise owner, and regional developer. Mia is a graduate of Southeastern Institute, where she received her degree in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy. After graduation, Mia launched her career in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a Clinic Director that eventually led to a five-year partnership with a prominent Fortune 500 company and ownership of Massage Envy Spas. Soon afterward, the expanded success of the company allowed her to develop the Joint Chiropractic Doctor Offices in North Carolina, Virginia, DC, Maryland, and New York. Mia currently resides in Maryland with her husband, Gordon Thornton, of 9 years, and three children, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Juliana. Her philanthropic passion has led her and Gordon to serve on the board and sponsor families of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. She is also a proud sponsor of A Better World, UNCF, Autism Speaks, and A Child’s Place.”

As evidenced by the new trailer, while she’s friends with Huger, Thornton and Candiace Dillard Bassett don’t appear to get off to a good start. It’s unclear what triggers their issues but the trailer shows Thornton throwing a fist full of salad at Dillard. Dillard tosses a handful of salad toward Thornton as she walks away.

Along with Thornton as the new addition, fans have a lot to look forward to from the OGs. The Huger’s marriage appears to be back on track following a rocky few seasons that included the death of Karen’s parents and Ray admitting that he fell out of love with his longtime wife. This season, the couple will renew their vows.

But as the Huger’s take another trip down the aisle, there’s trouble in paradise for the Dixons. Robyn and Juan got engaged during the season 5 finale but in the trailer, Robyn admits to feeling uninspired. She’s trying to balance motherhood, planning a wedding, starting a business, and building her and Juan’s dream home.

More issues between the Bryants also arise as Gizelle hints that the pandemic hit her and Jamal’s already long-distance relationship hard. The Darby’s welcome their second baby but Ashley is seen crying while saying things are harder than she expected.

Season 6 of RHOP premieres on Bravo on July 11.
