Jennie Nguyen has only been on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for one season but she’s already causing a stir.
While this season has focused primarily on the Jen Shah legal scandal and Pentecostal Pastor Mary Cosby’s issues with her co-stars, Nguyen has been unscathed, until now. This week, past social media posts of her making remarks about the Black Lives Matter movement have surfaced and fans have irate and calling for her to be fired.
Jennie Nguyen’s social media posts
As worldwide protests, peaceful demonstrations, and lootings took place throughout 2020 at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement due to ongoing police brutality and killings of unarmed Black and brown people, Nguyen expressed her opposition on her Facebook page with phrases like “BLM Thugs” and “Violent Gangs.”
In one post on a page with the 44-year-old’s name attached from September 2020 that she reshared talks about those who decided to loot. “I’m sick of people saying cops need more training. You had 18 years to teach your kids it’s wrong to loot, steal, set buildings a blaze, block traffic, laser people’s eyes, overturn cars, destroy buildings and attack citizens. Who failed who?” she read.
In another marked Sept. 2 of 2020, she reposted another that read: “Hundreds of blacks shot and many killed (including children) by other blacks every week. Over a thousand Officers violently injured, some permanently, by rioters. Anarchists rioting in major cities every night, which has caused billions of dollars of destruction to private and public property. And you still think Police Officers are the problem. You are an idiot.”
Fans express outrage
Fans are calling for her to be fired. The RHOSLC star however has reportedly deleted her entire Facebook account in the aftermath of the scandal. Still, the screenshots remain and continue to circulate online.
@Andy COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE JENNY NEEDS TO GO NOW!!! #RHOSLC #Bravo #BravoTV

Chile not Jenny from #RHOSLC being racist as hell. The screenshots are like so bad I thought they were fake. But it’s actually been confirmed.

Fans of the show are particularly upset over Andy Cohen recently speaking out about Mary Cosby skipping the Season 2 reunion. Cosby has also come under fire for remarks deemed racist or insensitive on the show. However, he hasn’t said anything about the current controversy.
This explains why @BravoTV needs better vetting of their talent. The #RHOSLC women need to speak openly about this. Why go after Mary yet stay silent on Jenny? https://t.co/vmOQlEUmhe

#RHOSLC I’m not shocked Jenny’s racist, I’m shocked at her audacity to make it her mission to call out Mary as a racist when she’s got all that shit just sitting on her social media.

Though the apology addressed her anti-BLM posts as far as rioting, she didn’t address the racist reposts that had nothing to do with the uprisings.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Sundays on Bravo.
