While Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have been part of a family of four for a few months now, the couple have kept their second born’s name under wraps — until now.
According to The Blast, which got its hands on the new baby’s birth certificate on Thursday, RiRi and Rocky named their son Riot Rose Mayers.
The Barbados native and “Praise Tha Lord” rapper had their first child, a boy they named RZA, in May 2022, and they named him after the iconic Wu-Tang emcee, Vibe reported. Like his older brother, the couple’s newest addition’s name is also inspired by music — A$AP Rocky’s latest single of the same title, to be exact. Though their second son’s name is now public knowledge, Entertainment Tonight reported that fans shouldn’t expect to see pictures or videos of the baby anytime soon.
“Rihanna and A$AP will spend the early days of parenthood out of the public eye and won’t make any immediate plans to debut the new baby,” an unnamed source told ET.
Rihanna’s second pregnancy was just as legendary as her first. The 35-year-old announced the couple’s good news during the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in February, rubbing her baby bump excitedly while wrapping up a medley of her biggest hits.
“They’re so excited to grow their family and are so united when it comes to parenting,” another unnamed source told ET at the time. “They have so much fun together and are very in love. They already shared a special connection and parenting together has made their bond even stronger. [Rihanna] knows her world is about to get exponentially busier with two babies in the house under two.”
The “Lift Me Up” vocalist stole the show at the Met Gala in May, letting her bump be center stage in a white Valentino gown. A$AP Rocky attended the prestigious event with her, wearing a red kilt over blue jeans, a white shirt and a black jacket.
It’s been a good week for Rihanna, who announced Thursday that her high-fashion athleisure label, Fenty x Puma, is officially back, Vogue reported. The label has been on hiatus since 2017, as RiRi has focused on growing her other ventures, Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty. To reintroduce the brand to buyers, the singer unveiled its newest design: futurist sneakers, named the Avanti.
“It’s a bit of a family reunion,” Rihanna told Vogue of Fenty x Puma’s new chapter. “Coming back to Puma as a mom, in a new space, allowed for new perspectives and ideas.”
