Rihanna's Savage x Fenty Fashion Show Criticized By Some Viewers For Featuring Non-Black Models In Braids

Rihanna's third fashion show for Savage x Fenty now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

The highly anticipated show became available for streaming on Friday, Sept. 24. Artists such as Lizzo graced the stage. But viewers are upset with the newly pronounced billionaire for styling white models' hair in braid extensions.

Though the show is praised for featuring models of all colors, shapes, and sizes, the hairstyles raised a red flag. Vanessa Hudgens and Emily Ratajkowski, who are not Black women, rocked braids down the runway.

Social media users are calling it an appropriation of Black culture and are taking the show to task.

Rihanna, Hudgens, and Ratajkowski have not responded to the controversy.
