Apple TV+ has dropped the first trailer for its darkly comedic anthology series Roar, which stars Issa Rae, Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo and more. From Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, Roar is executive produced by Kidman and Bruna Papandrea.

Based on a book of short stories by Cecelia Ahern, the series is the first to be released under Mensch and Flahive’s overall deal with Apple TV+.

The trailer features the stories of the women who are each featured in the eight episodes, including Rae, Kidman, Erivo, Merritt Wever, Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Meet Syal, Fivel Stewart and Kara Hayward.

Aside from them, the series also features Nick Kroll, Judy Davis, Alfred Molina, Daniel Dae Kim , Jake Johnson, Jason Mantzoukas, Chris Lowell, Ego Nwodim, Griffin Matthews and more.

The description: Roar is an anthology series of darkly comic feminist fables. Spanning genres from magical realism to psychological horror, these eight stand-alone stories feature ordinary women in some pretty extraordinary circumstances. In Roar, women eat photographs, date ducks, live on shelves like trophies. And yet, their struggles are universal.
