Ron Cephas Jones has joined the cast of the Eddie Murphy starrer Dolemite is My Name!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the This Is Us and Luke Cage star joins a cast that includes Wesley Snipes, Craig Robinson, Mike Epps, Tituss Burgess and T.I. The film is directed by Craig Brewer from a script by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.
Dolemite is My Name! is a biopic of Rudy Ray Moore, a comedian and film producer whose work often featured pimps, prostitutes, and other street-wise individuals.
His comedy inspired his famous blaxploitation movie Dolemite, which stars Moore as a pimp framed for a crime and gets back at his enemies with the help of his karate-fighting call girls.
Murphy is producing the film along with John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment.
