After two years, a new season of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race featuring star-studded celebrities and Queen Supreme mentors is coming our way!

VH1 announced today that season 2 of the series will debut on August 12 at 8 p.m. The season, which is a change in format from season 1, will follow “nine celebrities from all walks of life have agreed to leave their famous identities behind as they fully embrace the miracle of drag.”

The celebrities’ identities will be kept secret until they are asked to sashay away, allowing viewers to focus on their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.

Each week, the celebrities will undergo complete drag transformations and compete in the ultimate lip sync showdown based on a new category until one of them is crowned “America’s Next Celeb Drag Superstar” and awarded $100,000 for their favorite charity. 

Mentors for the season arre Brooke Lynn Heights, Jujubee & Monét X Change. Additionally, special appearances will be made by Eureka, Gottmik, Katya, Morgan McMichaels, Silky Nutmeg Ganache and Violet Chachki. RuPaul hosts and Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley and Ross Mathews return to judge.

RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race is produced by World of Wonder Productions with Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, RuPaul Charles, and James Sunderland serving as Executive Producers. Tim Palazzola serves as Executive Producer for VH1 and Jen Passovoy serves as Supervising Producer.

The new season has plenty of guest appearances in store.

This season, the celebrity contestants will be mentored by “Queen Supremes” Brooke Lynn Heights, Jujubee, and Monét X Change.

In addition to the show’s drag mentors, several“Drag Race” legends are set to make special appearances this season including Eureka, Gottmik, Katya, Morgan McMichaels, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, and Violet Chachki.

RuPaul Charles returns as host alongside resident judges Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Mathews.
