Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga are starring in the upcoming Broadway production of Macbeth, directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold. The production marks Craig’s return to Broadway as well as Negga’s Broadway debut. Performances begin March 29, 2022 and will officially open April 28, 2022 at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre.

Macbeth is one of William Shakespeare’s classic plays about a political couple’s quest for power that leads to crime. “A tale of malice, matrimony and murder, Macbeth tells the story of one couple’s obsession with power—and their guilt after doing the unthinkable,” according to the Broadway production’s description. The show will run for only 15 weeks and promises to “capture the passion and ferocity of Shakespeare’s most haunting text like never before.”
