RZA, On A Roll, Signs Up To Direct Genghis Khan Biopic And Action Thriller 'No Man's Land'

His The Man With The Iron Fist isn't even out yet, but RZA continues to pile up future projects for himself to direct. Kudos!

We already told you about his teaming with Reginald Hudlin to adapt celebrated comic book author Grant Morrison's latest work, titled Happy!, as well as something called One Spoon Of Chocolate, which he mentioned in a New York Times interiew, but didn't reveal any details about.

This morning comes news that RZA has signed on to direct John Milius’ Genghis Khan biopic, as well as an action thriller titled No Man’s Land.

First, as THR reports, the Genghis Khan biopic on the legendary Mongolian warrior and conqueror, has been in the works for many years, with Milius, who wrote the script and is executive producing, originally on board to direct. It's apparently RZA's project now.

The story will be told from the POV of Khan’s son and grandson, and is prepping for a shoot in China next year (where RZA shot Iron Fists).

And secondly, with regards to No Man’s Land, produced by Bill Mechanic and Reginald Hudlin, RZA would direct from a script penned by Trey Ellis and David Klass, in a story that centers on "a man who steals a powerful criminal's diamond that soon proves to be far more valuable than initially thought. With the help of a dancer, he attempts to stay alive and cash in on the jewel."

The latter will likely will next for RZA, says THR.

Talk about hitting the ground running. Depending on how well Iron Fist does, RZA could very quickly rise to A-list director status, given the scale of the projects he currently is attached to helm.

Iron Fists opens this Friday, so we'll get to see RZA's directorial abilities on display.
