Saatchi & Saatchi is in it’s 5th year of sponsorship of the Run&Shoot Filmworks Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival.

The 2013 Saatchi & Saatchi NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE Producer’s Award is exclusively for films accepted into the 11th Annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, which runs from August 6-10, 2013.

If you would like your film to be considered for this award you must include with your submission, the BIOGRAPHY of the film, which is summarized as follows:

We look at the “biography” of the film as the historical EKG of the project. The “biography” should tell us how the project lived, died, and was brought back to life or how it wouldn’t die even when fate seems to be pulling the plug. Send us a narrative that chronicles the journey of your project. How it went from an idea to an image on the screen. Detail the initial production plan and strategy. We would like actual budget. And the story of what happened along the way. Tell us about the challenges and the triumphs. We want to know how the vision stayed on track even when someone threw a tire iron on the third rail. And lastly, why did you make this film?

Films of all genres are eligible and there’s no running time limit.

The Saatchi & Saatchi jury determines the finalists. There are typically 7 finalists in the Saatchi competition and 1 winner announced at the festival.

The past 4 winners, from the years 2009-2012 (in that chronological order), were Return To Mexico City by Joie Walls (Documentary), The Roe Effect by Kiel Adrian Scott (Short Film), Infiltrating Hollywood: The Rise and Fall of the Spook Who Sat By The Door by Christine Acham & Clifford Ward (Documentary), and Wolf by Ya’Ke Smith (Feature Narrative).

Saatchi’s goal is to introduce Saatchi & Saatchi senior executives and creative directors to the film festival and most importantly to the participating filmmakers. As an evolution between the partnership of Saatchi and MVAAFF, Saatchi & Saatchi, in 2011, designated past NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE film finalist Bree Newsome (Wake) as Saatchi & Saatchi’s first ever Artist in Residence.
