Sam Greenlee’s family has announced that a celebration of the man’s life is set for this Friday, June 6, 2014, at the DuSable Museum in Chicago, IL, starting at 6:30pm. 

To assist in paying for the cost of the service, as well as to help the family bring closure to some of his unfinished work, and create a foundation in his name, the family has set up a fundraising campaign to raise $5,000. I’m only just now being alerted to this, otherwise I would’ve posted it a lot sooner. The campaign has raised just $395 thus far (as of the time of this post), with only 16 days left to go before it ends.

Greenlee passed away on May 19. The author and activist died in his home in Chicago, at age 83.
