Sam Greenlee's Family Launches Fundraising Campaign To Help Pay For Event Celebrating His Life + To Create Foundation In His Name

Sam Greenlee’s family has announced that a celebration of the man’s life is set for this Friday, June 6, 2014, at the DuSable Museum in Chicago, IL, starting at 6:30pm

To assist in paying for the cost of the service, as well as to help the family bring closure to some of his unfinished work, and create a foundation in his name, the family has set up a fundraising campaign to raise $5,000. I’m only just now being alerted to this, otherwise I would’ve posted it a lot sooner. The campaign has raised just $395 thus far (as of the time of this post), with only 16 days left to go before it ends.

So to contribute click HERE for the campaign’s Fundly page, where you can read up further on the family’s plans.

Greenlee passed away on May 19. The author and activist died in his home in Chicago, at age 83.
