She’s the first actress to be cast in an episode of Jordan Peele’s reboot at CBS All Access.

The only details we know so far is that she’ll star in the first episode, “Rewind.”

Lathan recently starred on television in the Fox event series Shots Fired. She recurred on Showtime’s The Affair this past season, as well. She can currently be seen in the Netflix drama film Nappily Ever After.

“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time but prophesied issues of ours. I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone,” said Peele, in an earlier statement.

Peele, who executive produces, is also the new host.

The iconic science-fiction series, narrated by Serling, originally ran on CBS from 1959-1964. There was a revival in the ’80s on CBS and a short-lived one on UPN in 2002. There was a potential anthology reboot in 2012 to be directed by Bryan Singer, as well.
