Saweetie is back at it with two singles: “Birthday” and “Shot O’Clock.” Along with the new tracks, the rapper shared visuals for “Birthday,” which features fellow emcees YG and Tyga.
According to Rolling Stone, the video, which Saweetie dropped late Thursday, kicks off with Y2K-inspired clips of the 30-year-old partying it up at a glitzy bash.
“Comin’ live on my birthday / Spendin’ hundred racks on a new chain,” she raps, surrounded by her signature icy blue hue.
The “Rack City” rapper appears shortly after, donning a black and white look that coordinates with the lacy one-pieces his background dancers are in.
Clips of the Bay Area native from Instagram Stories and Live appear throughout the video from the 30-year-old’s actual birthday festivities in the club with her friends.
YG’s cameo happens later in the video, though he does appear throughout the video in the background.
“Talk to her crazy that’s her birthday wish / So I told her happy birthday b***h,” he raps when he emerges from the sidelines.
Shortly after, the video concludes with more videos of Saweetie and her posse partying. “Birthday” and its visuals come a little over a week after the 30-year-old announced the trio’s Str8 to the Klub Tour of North America.
“Who trynna fall in love in the clubbb 😛,” she wrote on Instagram. “STR8 TO THE KLUB TOUR 🖤 Tickets on sale this Friday at 10am (local). www.STR8TOTHEKLUB.com.”
“Shot O’Clock” is just as upbeat as “Birthday.” Flipping Suzanne Vega’s 1992 song “Tom’s Diner,” Saweetie raps about getting the party started.
“We gonna turn up at the party / Taking shots off of my body,” she raps over the familiar melody.
The Str8 to the Klub Tour kicks off at Golden 1 Center in Saweetie’s hometown of Sacramento, California, on Sept. 21, with stops in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Denver and others. They’ll wrap things up in Los Angeles at Kia Forum on Nov. 22.
