Life after Scandal is looking quite golden for Cornelius Smith Jr.

The actor has been cast in the political thriller Against All Enemies alongside Kristen Stewart, Jack O’Connell, Vince Vaughn and Anthony Mackie. The picture, inspired by true events, chronicles Jean Seaberg, who was targeted by the FBI surveillance program COINTELPRO for her involvement in the Black Panther Party during the late 1960s.

Smith will portray the role of Ray Robertson, a schemer with a good guy veneer in collusion with FBI agent Carl Kowalski, played by Vince Vaughan, who sets up one of his friends to take a fall. Smith is no stranger to the political arena as fans of the actor know him for his portrayal of Marcus Walker on the hit ABC drama Scandal for four seasons and the legal potboiler How to Get Away with Murder for a crossover special.

Against All Enemies is set to be directed by Benedict Andrews and written and executive produced by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse.
