‘Scandal's’ Kerry Washington & Katie Lowes Team Up with Shondaland for 'Downton Abbey'-Esque Nanny project

null"Scandal" cast-mates Kerry Washington and Katie Lowes have signed up to executive produce another Shondaland series – an untitled hour-long comedy-drama set up at ABC, written by actress Bess Wohl, and is described as an edgy and comical upstairs-downstairs look at the insanity of modern child-rearing, with the focus placed on a group of young nannies, the interconnected families they work for, and their various support staffs.

It reminds me of the "Downton Abbey"-esque Shondaland project that was announced in 2012 – a period drama set in 1895, revolving around the family who owned New York’s first true luxury hotel, the support staff who work there, and the people who pass through. Although both are clearly different projects.

Shondaland’s Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers will also executive produce, with Wohl, Washington, Lowes and Adam Shapiro.

No ETA yet, and no casting hints. Although, given the premise, I’d expect that the cast for this potential new Shondaland series will indeed be diverse – especially if it’s set in a cosmopolitan city like New York.
