'Shaft' Exclusive: Regina Hall And Samuel L. Jackson Have An Awkward Reunion In Clip From New Film

June 7th 2019

Shadow And Act has an exclusive clip from the upcoming movie, Shaft.

In the clip, John Shaft II (Samuel L. Jackson) has a run-in/reunion with ex-wife, Maya (Regina Hall), who is the mother of their son, JJ Shaft (Jessie T. Usher). Needless to say, some hilarious tension ensues.

The official description for the film: JJ, aka John Shaft Jr. (Usher), may be a cyber security expert with a degree from MIT, but to uncover the truth behind his best friend’s untimely death, he needs an education only his dad can provide. Absent throughout JJ’s youth, the legendary locked-and-loaded John Shaft (Jackson) agrees to help his progeny navigate Harlem’s heroin-infested underbelly. And while JJ’s own FBI analyst’s badge may clash with his dad’s trademark leather duster, there’s no denying family. Besides, Shaft’s got an agenda of his own, and a score to settle that’s professional and personal.

This latest film in the franchise stars Jackson, Usher, Richard Roundtree and Hall. Avan Jogia, Alexandra Shipp, Method Man and Matt Lauria are among the co-stars. Tim Story directed the film, which was written by Kenya Barris and Alex Barnow.
