Shalita Grant's Most Notable Roles, Explained

Shalita Grant is a woman of range, adept at switching seamlessly between multiple genres, whether it be drama, comedy and even Broadway.

To catch our readers up to speed, here are some of Grant's most notable roles:

NCIS: New Orleans

For many television audiences, Grant's name was first introduced with her portrayal of Agent Sonja Percy on the CBS police procedural NCIS: New Orleans. Emerging as a fan favorite early on in the series, Grant's portrayal of Percy was written as feisty, no-nonsense and determined to do things her own way.

Despite her acclaimed performance, Grant made the decision to exit NCIS: New Orleans in the fourth season due to the show's reported toxic work environment.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike

Long before she made her transition into television, Grant originated the role of Cassandra in the Broadway play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Starring alongside the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Grant's role of Cassandra was described by Durang as both "a cleaning woman and soothsayer." Grant was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her performance.

Santa Clarita Diet

In the wake of her exit from NCIS: New OrleansGrant played a similar role to Sonja Percy, albeit in a totally different genre. In the horror-comedy Santa Clarita Dietshe assumed the role of Tess Rogers, an agent looking to decipher the master behind a fracking explosion in the town of Santa Clarita, California.
