Sherri Shepherd is a proud mother. The comedian, actor and former co-host on The View took to Instagram to congratulate her son over the weekend. Jeffrey Jr. recently attended his high school prom.
“‘Mom, why are you crying? It’s just my prom!’ Watching my son put a corsage on his date’s wrist and helping her into the car…” Shepherd captioned her post. “Whew, I think I did alright!”
The TV host posted a carousel of photographs and a video of her son getting ready for prom. Jeffrey wore a black tuxedo with a blue bow tie and white Nike Air Force 1s. The mom and son posed together for photographs. Shepherd also shared snapshots of her helping Jeffrey comb his hair for the event and pinning the buttonhole of his jacket.
“If I had gone to my prom, I’d know how this…” she said in the video.

Shepherd had her son with her ex-husband Jeffrey Tarpley. She now lives with her 18-year-old in Harlem in New York City.
Shepherd premiered her daytime talk show, Sherri, last September. Fox renewed Sherri for two more seasons in January.
“I love coming out, sitting in that chair, because I got to do it when I was on The View,” she told The New York Times. “And I love my family on The View, but you have to share audio space with four other women at the table. So this one I get to come out and be as silly as I want to.”
