Watch an exclusive clip from film on gun violence, 'SHOT,' starring Sharon Leal

(Shadow & Act Exclusive): Here's an exclusive clip from the film SHOT, which stars Sharon Leal. It also features Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and Malcolm-Jamal Warner in roles.

Its synopsis: Mark (Noah Wyle) and Phoebe (Leal) are in the midst of a breakup. Miguel (Lendeborg Jr.), a bullied teenager, gets an illegal gun and accidentally shoots Mark.  In real time we experience the consequences of getting shot.  Using multiple screen techniques, we viscerally go through everything the couple goes through, and at the same time we see how the boy tries to avoid getting caught.  The story tracks the events of what the medical profession calls "the golden hour," with all members of EMT's and ER teams attempting to save Mark's life.  We share Marks shock, pain, anger, fear, humor, guilt, grief and desire for vengeance and potential redemption, and we watch how this all affects his troubled relationship with his wife.  We also track the struggles Miguel has facing the responsibility for the shooting.  After that hour of terror, we discover these three characters 5 months later and experience how their lives have been turned upside down, leading to a confrontation with the three of them when Miguel asks for forgiveness for what he did and Mark, paralyzed and embittered, considers revenge.

SHOT opens this Friday in NY and LA and there are special Q&As in LA with director Jeremy Kagan and Noah Wyle this weekend.
