Showtime acquires rights to rare Prince concert film, 'Sign o’ the Times'

The rarely-seen Prince concert film, Sign o’ the Times has been acquired by Showtime. The premium network will air it next month.

This will be the first time the film has aired on American television in over a decade. It was originally conceived as a companion to his album of the same name.

The film, shot at his Paisley Park Studios and on tour in the Netherlands and Belgium, features live performances of songs including “U Got the Look,” “If I Was Your Girlfriend” and “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man,” in addition to the title song and a rendition of “Little Red Corvette.”

It was produced by Robert Cavallo, Joseph Ruffalo and Steven Fargnoli
