Our black mermaid dreams are really coming true!
Zimbabwean actress Sibongile Mlambo has been cast in the upcoming Freeform drama, Siren.
The series, which will be an hour-long and have a ten-episode first season, will be set in a fictional coastal town called Bristol Cove, which is known for its legend of being home to mermaids.
When a mysterious girl comes to down (Eline Powell) and proves this legend is true, it turns into a battle against man and sea as the mermaids, described as “predatory” fight to reclaim their ocean.
Mlambo will play Donna, described as a ” mystifying and deceptively powerful mermaid.”
She previously had a recurring role in Black Sails and is currently recurring on Teen Wolf.
