Looks like things are looking up for Spike Lee. A french court has ordered TF1 Intl., the sales and distribution arm of the Gallic net, to pay Euros32 million ($45.8 million) to him along with his Miracle At St. Anna writer James McBride and Italian producers (On My Own) on the film since the company didn’t honor the distribution agreement.
According to Variety, TF1 Intl. held the film’s international sales rights for the world (excluding the US, Italy and Canada) and planned releasing the film in France but canceled claiming the…”film did not conform to the approved script, and sought termination of the distribution agreement.”
Lee is to get 1million euros, McBride was to receive 200,000 euros and $18 million was awarded to BNP Paribas bank.
