The daytime talk show space continues to get more and more crowded! Although this time with a legal twist.

Earlier this week, word on the street was that Mo’Nique was in talks with ABC to host a new daytime talkie; today, Lionsgate-owned Debmar-Mercury is said to be in prepping a syndicated legal panel talk show with Star Jones as one of the co-hosts.

Details are underwraps currently, while the deal is being worked out, but word is that Jones will be one of 5 hosts – the other 4 aren’t locked in yet, although filming has already begun.

The attorney is certainly no stranger to the talk show platform. She was one of 5 hosts of ABC’s The View, a gig she held for 9 years before a very public exit.

It’s worth noting that the producer/distributor behind this new talk show – Debmar-Mercury – also produces and distributes Wendy Williams’ daytime talker The Wendy Williams Show. Williams are Jones are pals, and they’ll be bringing the latter’s novel Satan’s Sisters, to VH1, in a deal with Suzanne de Passe via her production company, who’ll executive produce.
