Star Jones On Being Back On 'The View' For Season 25: 'It Will Always Be My Home'

TV personality and legal eagle Star Jones has returned home to ABC’s The View just in time for the show’s 25th anniversary. She appeared on last Friday’s episode as Whoopi Goldberg is absent. She is one of several former co-hosts stopping by for guest appearances for the 25th season.

People caught up with Jones where she shared her delight about her friendships with hosts and to be returning home to The View. The interview took place before the recent headlines surrounding Goldberg.

"We can talk about each other. Y'all can't talk about us, OK?" Jones said of her fellow 'The View' alumni, adding, "Whoopi and I have been friends for so long, it's unbelievable."

Star was part of the original five hosts. She co-hosted alongside show creator, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Meredith Vieira, and Debbie Matenopoulos. From 1997 to her departure in 2006, the attorney, journalist and advocate weighed in on some of the hottest topics around the world.

“That’s my home. It will always be my home. I love the ladies that are there on The View,” Jones told People.

Sharing her excitement to return to the first of its kind of platform, Jones dished on working with Joy Behar and that political commentator, Sunny Hostin and she are sorority sisters. Both accomplished women belong to the first Black Greek Lettered Organization for women of color, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

“More importantly, I have a greater appreciation for my long-term mentor, and as most women in the business would say their mentor, Barbara Walters, because she made diversity a front burner,” Jones added.

Other hosts to return include conservative commentator Elizabeth Hasselbeck and journalist and TV host Vieira.
