‘Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland’

Lifetime network’s new film based on the last few years of Michael Jackson’s life, titled “Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland,” is a story that will be told through the eyes of his bodyguards, Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard, and will also touch on his being a father to sons Prince and Blanket, and daughter Paris.

In the telepic, Jackson is played by Navi, considered the world’s most prominent Michael Jackson impersonator. Meanwhile, Chad L. Coleman plays Bill Whitefield and Sam Adegoke is Javon Beard.

The project is based on the book “Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days,” written by Motown head Berry Gordy.

Elizabeth Hunter wrote the script, and Dianne Houston is directing the film.

Suzanne de Passe is executive producer.

Lifetime has set a Memorial Day (Monday, May 29) premiere for the film at 8/7c, and as part of its marketing effort, the network has released 4 videos of the star of the film, MJ impersonator Navi, giving dance lessons, teaching you how to move like Michael Jackson. The first video shows you how to perform a dance sequence from the “Beat It” video; the second from “Smooth Criminal;” the third shows you how to do the moonwalk; and the fourth shows you moves from “Beat It.”

Underneath the 4 videos is a trailer for the telepic.
