Shadow and Act has learned that Netflix is in development on its second feature from See You Yesterday director Stefon Bristol.

Bristol will direct Gordon Hemingway & The Realm Of Cthulhu for the streamer and his mentor, Spike Lee, produce this one as well.

Here’s the logline: Set in East Africa, 1928, the roguish Black American gunslinger Gordon Hemingway teams up with the elite warrior Princess Zenebé of Ethiopia to rescue their kidnapped regent from an ancient evil.

The film is written by Hank Woon with additional revisions by both Woon and Fredrica Bailey. Other producers alongside Lee are Lloyd Levin and Beatriz Levin, who initially optioned the spec screenplay from Woon and brought the film to Bristol and Lee. Oliver Oftedal and Tom Olsson are co-producing for Goodbye Kansas’ production arm Infinite Entertainment.

See You Yesterday, which first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, was released in 2019. it won the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay.
